State of the Art Car (SOAC) demonstration
The SOAC operated intermixed with regular equipment. The cars were wider than standard 'L' cars, and required modifications to operate on the Skokie Swift by having platforms movable to allow the cars to enter the station. This is the signal installed at Dempster to let the operator know it was OK to enter the station.
Note that the indications are "Flaps Up" and "Flaps Down" (and "Flaps down" is lit, so the SOAC car can get to the platform
